Medical First Responders & Disaster Response
Well-trained and well-equipped, St John Ambulance volunteers are at countless public events to provide basic and advanced care when emergencies occur. By being there, St. John Volunteer Medical First Responders are “first on the scene” and the “first to respond” in the critical minutes until medical assistance arrives.
Our volunteers are present at hundreds of events per year such as Rangers Games, Run for the Cure, Memorial Cup, rock concerts, Junior PGA Championships and many others.
Activities:
Volunteer Medical First Response Services are provided at a variety of community settings including, but not limited to:
- public gatherings
- sporting and recreational events
- disaster or civil emergencies
Volunteer Benefits:

We are looking for:
Individuals with an interest in first aid and health care who wish to provide volunteer emergency health-related service within their community.
The volunteer candidates :
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Should be physically and mentally capable of performing the activities that are reasonable for the type of service they are to provide
- Must hold, as a minimum at the time of enrolment, avalid Standard first aid and Level “C’ CPR certificate from a nationally recognized training agency.
